Woman infected with bird flu in China, recovers
A 26 year old woman from East China’s Anhui Province, who was diagnosed with the H5N1 strain of avian flu in February, was discharged from the hospital today, having fully recovered from the virus.
The woman, surnamed Wang, who lived in Jitai Village of Yingshang County, was admitted to the No. 2 People’s Hospital of Fuyang City with a fever and pneumonia symptoms on Feb. 18. Samples taken from the woman tested positive for the H5N1 virus by both the national and provincial centers for disease control.
The Ministry of Health announced Wang as a human case of bird flu on Feb. 25.
