Romania Has Ten Confirmed Bird Flu Outbreaks, 27 Suspicions
Romanian agriculture minister Gheorghe Flutur announced Wednesday evening in a news conference that there are ten confirmed bird flu outbreaks in several counties and the virus is suspected in 27 other locations.
Out of the ten outbreaks, eight are in Brasov county, two of them in farms and six in localities. The other two confirmed outbreaks are in counties Vrancea and Covasna.
Flutur added that there are suspicions in another 27 locations, 19 of which are also in Brasov county, and the rest in localities in counties Buzău, Bacau, Vrancea, Sibiu şi Valcea. “We have suspicions because results of rapid tests came out positive,” Flutur explained.
