No bird flu at St.Petersburg zoo - (Russia)
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Tests have not confirmed a bird flu outbreak at the zoo in St.Petersburg, Gennady Onishchenko, Russia’s chief sanitary official and head of consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, told Interfax on Monday.
“Samples taken from the dead geese did not test positive for bird flu,” Onishchenko said.
The staff dealing with birds were examined by experts in infectious diseases and found healthy, the chief sanitary official said.
