Egypt reports 4th case of human bird flu

The Egyptian Health Minister reported a fourth case of human avian influenza not long after reporting a third case in the country.

The current case, is a 17-year-old Egyptian boy, the son of an owner of a chicken farm where thousands of infected poultry were culled recently, Minister Hatem el-Gabaly said.

El-Gabaly said the teen, only identified as a student, is receiving medical care at an area hospital for bird flu and his condition is stable.

Other newspapers in the region reported Tuesday that other cases of the H5N1 bird flu virus have been found, but health ministry officials denied that and promised the government would be transparent about the deadly virus.
