Thousands of Britains reporting dead birds.
Thousands of calls reporting dead birds are being received from the public following the news avian flu has reached British shores, but the vast majority will not have the disease, experts have said.
Britain’s bird population runs into tens of millions, with many dying each day of a number of natural and manmade causes.
Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) spokesman Andre Farrar said birds fell victim to predators, old age, hunger, cold, a wide range of diseases, or accidents such as flying into cars or windows.
