French poultry banned by Japan, avian influenza ( bird flu ) to blame

Japanese authorities announced that a ban is in place against the import of all French poultry products into the country. Officials stated that France’s recent outbreak of the bird flu virus was the reason for the ban.

Japan did not wait for details of the virus to be confirmed, immediately putting a temporary ban into effect.
