China reports 11th avian influenza case
On Thursday February 9, 2006, another confirmed case of a human infected with the avian influenza virus was reported in China. This brings the total number of people infected with the deadly virus in China, to 11.
The Chinese avian influenza victim is a 26-year-old female farmer from the southeastern province of Fujian. She developed symptoms January 10 and was hospitalized with pneumonia. She is under treatment and in stable condition.
