Bird flu lull
Over the past few days there have been few, if any , new cases of the avian influenza virus reported. Both in Humans and animals. We can associate this with warmer summer temperatures, better anti bird flu procedures from most countries or a combination of both.
Since the avian influenza virus tends to live longer and spread more easily in colder weather, the warmer temperature probably has more to do with it then anything else.
Although some recent studies suggest that the bird flu virus can also do well in warmer climates, concrete proof does seem to be lacking however. The latest confirmed bird flu statistics can be found at this bird flu link.
While good news does not sell newspapers, most of us welcome the lack of bird flu virus cases. Should you still need that daily dose of bird flu news, our breaking news section(on the right column of our home page), will still list any news having to do with the bird flu virus no matter how mundane it may be.
Also keep in mind that news agencies survive on ad revenues, so you may see stories rehashed over and over. Keep that in mind as you browse the Internet news spots.
