Avian influenza (bird Flu), confirmed in 2 more Indonesian deaths

A hospital spokesmen in Indonesia has confirmed that two women who died in the hospital last week, after being admitted with avian influenza like symptoms, did in fact have the H5N1 strain of the avian influenza virus.

Results of tests by the World Health Organization, on samples taken from the two women, confirmed they were infected with the virus. The confirmation takes Indonesia’s human death toll from avian influenza to 18.
